Position Overview

As an Automation Technician II, you will maintain the facilities Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems station during checkout, testing, troubleshooting and repairs of the automated equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying system components, troubleshoot all non-functioning electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subsystems and components, ensuring they return to full serviceability. 

Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of Industrial Power 3 Phase 480V and industry accepted electrical safety practices for testing energized circuits.
  • Working understanding of PLC controlled machinery
  • Working understanding of VFD controlled machinery
  • Proficient in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment
  • Proficient in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment
  • Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams.
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 110 ft.
  • Computer proficient--Microsoft Windows based computer operation.
  • Ability to utilize shop equipment for fabrication.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all plant equipment and complete appropriate documentation
  • Strong knowledge of equipment operations and recovery.

Qualifications

  • Hold an Associates Degree or equivalent experience in electronics/mechatronics or equivalent field
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics, mechanical diagrams and Illustrated Parts Breakdowns for troubleshooting and repairs, while understanding complex automated system drawings and component specification sheets 
  • Experience welding with stick or MIG a plus
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Windows based computer operation for HMI control of automated equipment.
